Report Writing Guidelines
ERB has published official Report Writing Guidelines for each engineering discipline. These are mandatory references for all registered engineers when preparing Professional Technical Reports (PTRs). They must be used alongside PTR Form 2.
Mandatory Use
All professional technical reports must comply with the relevant discipline guideline and use PTR Form 2. Reports must be signed, dated, and stamped with the engineer's ERB rubber stamp and registration number.
Civil Engineering
Infrastructure, structural, and civil project documentation — bridges, dams, roads, drainage, water retaining structures.
Electrical Engineering
Power systems, installations, telecommunications, electronics, and electrical engineering documentation.
Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical systems, plant engineering, HVAC, manufacturing, automotive, and aerospace documentation.
Environmental Engineering
EIA, waste management, pollution control, sustainability, and environmental impact documentation.
Chemical & Process Engineering
Chemical process design, plant safety, petroleum processes, biotechnology, and polymer documentation.
Mining & Mineral Processing
Mine planning, ore processing, metallurgical assessments, and engineering geology documentation.
Telecomm & Electronics
Telecommunications networks, electronic systems, ICT infrastructure, RF, and signal processing documentation.
Computer & Information Systems
ICT systems engineering, software projects, network engineering, AI, and database documentation.
Agricultural Engineering
Irrigation systems, agricultural machinery, rural infrastructure, bio-process, and post-harvest documentation.
Marine Engineering
Marine structures, port engineering, vessel systems, naval architecture, coastal, and harbour documentation.
PTR Form & Requirements
Professional Technical Report (PTR) Form 2
